It is with profound regret and sorrow that we have learned recently of the passing on September 1, 2016 of Paul Joseph Faulkner, BA, MBA (Michigan State), FCGA (Ontario).
Paul, who retired after 17 years with the Canadian Armed forces as a Lt. Col and then pursued a career in the public service, was a very active member of the accounting profession. He served the profession in many capacities including President of CGA Ontario in 1974-75.
After his retirement, Paul volunteered for many years with the CGA Accounting Research Center at the Telfer School of Management. He served on the Center’s advisory committee and took a very active role in many activities including the organization of the Center’s annual conferences, the publication of the Newsletter and the authoring of numerous articles for professional magazines.
Paul lectured accounting at both Concordia University and Ottawa University. He was liked and highly respected by his students and his peers.
He will be remembered by all those who knew him as an outstanding professional and a very kind, very generous and very supportive person.
On behalf of CPA Canada Accounting and Governance Research Center, we wish to express our appreciation for his dedication and strong support to the Center and we offer our most sincere condolences to his entire family.
