Professor Daniel Zéghal, FCGA has won the Lorna Henderson Outstanding Mentor Award from the Certified General Accountants of Ontario in recognition of his notable contribution in mentoring many future CGAs and in providing career guidance to aid in their professional development in order to build the future of the accounting profession.
Professor Daniel Zéghal is a teacher who believes in the power of mentorship. A recognized award recipient with the Association, Daniel is noted for his strong dedication to the brand and was recognized in 2008 by CGA Canada as one of the top 100 CGAs who made a difference.
He is recognized for his pursuit of excellence and his esteemed reputation within the profession. As director of the Accounting Research Centre in Ottawa, Daniel is credited with being an extraordinary mentor dedicating 30+ years to supporting aspiring accounting and finance professionals.
He works hard at building long- standing relationships with students, taking an active interest in their education and future career paths. Many of these students become professional accountants, holding successful leadership positions- who in turn give back to their communities and the accounting profession.
Daniel also helps international students adapt and integrate within Canada. He is recognized and respected by his students and peers for passion, high standards and for “helping students live their dreams”.
