MBASA Executive

President – Philippe Lamothe

Philippe is a full-time student in the joint JD-MBA program and he previously completed his specialized B.Comm in Finance at the Telfer School of Management. In addition, Philippe has been a teaching assistant at the University of Ottawa since 2014 and he has worked in finance and accounting positions for property management as well as insurances companies. Philippe wishes to leverage his newly acquired knowledge, skills and connections from the MBA experience in order to pursue a career in investment banking or in corporate law.

Vice President – Atanu Karam

Atanu is a full-time student in the intensive MBA program. He completed his Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from National Institute of Technology in Durgapur, India. He has worked for LafargeHolcim, the largest manufacturer of Cement and Building Materials in the world. He has expertise in process management, quality control, problem analysis and problem resolution. Apart from this he was also involved in various leadership position in his undergrad. He was the Vice-President of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and active member of students association at National Institute of Technology in Durgapur, India. He is also a national winner of School Leadership Program, hosted by Oracle each year. He likes to spend his leisure time in playing indoor games and going for high altitude trekking.

Treasurer – Aaron Gallivan

Aaron is a full-time student in the intensive Telfer MBA program. He previously completed a B.A. Honours in Criminology and Criminal Justice (2010) and another B.A. Honours in Law with a Concentration in Business Law (2011) from Carleton University. Aaron has over three years’ experience in the financial services industry and eight months in the public sector. In banking, he developed new client relationships and effectively maintained those client relationships over the long term. He has been recognized as a top performer in sales and a strong team player, with well-developed interpersonal skills. Aaron is eager to further develop through his experience in the MBA program and excel in a career in finance.

Secretary – Ankita Poddar

Ankita is a full- time student in the Telfer MBA program with roughly three years experience in the IT industry. She completed her engineering degree in chemical engineering in India and upon graduation worked as a systems engineer in the telecom sector and then as a business analyst in the banking sector for India’s largest IT company. She has participated in TEDX conventions Chennai, India. She would like to learn and acquire new skills during the MBA program and start a career in marketing.

Social Director – Abhijit Doiphode

Abhijit Doiphode

Abhijit is a full-time intensive MBA program with an engineering degree in Information Technology. He has previously worked with Tata Consultancy Services – Asia’s largest IT Company, as a Lead Business Analyst in the mobility sector. He is a total technology enthusiast and follows the leads in the technology sector dedicatedly. Apart from all this, he has been active in organisations like Computer Society of India (CSI) and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE) in the capacity of an Executive Officer and a member respectively. External Relations Director – Matt Chesser

A full-time student in the MBA intensive program, Matt’s MBASA portfolio includes liaising with Telfer Alumni, the MBA Alumni Association, and the Telfer Career Centre, as well as helping to organize networking and career-oriented events. He completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at McGill University in Political Science & English Literature, which makes him likely the only MBA student with more knowledge of Faulkner than finance. Raised in Vancouver, he spent the last four years managing development programs for the Ottawa Senators. His biggest weaknesses include bad puns, plaid shirts, and writing brief introductions. MBA Games Coordinator (Full time) – Shayan Obaidullah

  • To organize and lead a delegation of MBA & MHA students to the MBA Games that happen once a year
    • Following up with MBA Games Rep of hosting university, preparing and organizing teams for case competitions, sports, cultural events, Making travel plans, Selecting apparel for the students, etc

MBA Games Coordinator (Part time) – Emma Azzi

Emma Azzi is a part-time student in the MBA Professional Program. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Management at the Telfer School of Management where she maximized her academic involvement to make the most out of her university experience. She was involved in several student executive positions including the Telfer Student Council, CASCO, the Telfer Marketing Association, and the Human Resources Association. She is also a Teaching Assistant for the Business Communications Skill course (ADM 2381) where she teaches students how to conduct business presentations and write effective memos. She is ecstatic to be back at Telfer again and is looking forward to proudly representing the school at the MBA Games this winter!
