Scott is a third year Finance student at the Telfer School of Management. He is interested in psychology of investing and how the world is connected. He has enjoyed learning from his peers and exploring unique perspectives. He studied abroad for a semester in Hong Kong where he took classes in M&A and Risk Management. He would like to pursue a future career in private equity or venture capital. He is an avid skier in the winter and always enjoys a good barbeque and camping outdoors in the summer.

Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Christian is currently studying Financial Mathematics and Economics in the faculty of science at the University of Ottawa. Since joining his first investment club in his second year, Christian’s interest in finance propelled him to switch out of a double major in Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry to pursue a career in the field. Alongside his involvement with the fund, Christian is complementing his studies with an EC position with the federal government of Canada, and several finance designations. Having a strong passion for the quantitative aspects of the markets, he hopes to contribute his studies in mathematics to the performance of both the fund and his future employers. When he’s not reading about investing, volunteering, or studying, Christian enjoys fishing, soccer, biking, and macroeconomics.

Alejandro Fiszman – Consumers

Alejandro is entering his third year in the Telfer School of Management Commerce Program. At the Telfer Capital Fund Alejandro is an analyst covering the consumer discretionary and consumer staple sectors.
For the Summer of 2016, Alejandro will be completing his first summer internship, in the Regulatory Policy Division of the Bank of Canada’s Financial Stability Department. In addition to the fund, Alejandro was elected to represent Telfer at the University of Ottawa Senate and he is the Managing Director of Mod-Eng Group, a student led financial modeling club.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Alejandro attended Sir Robert Borden High School where he played rugby and achieved academic excellence. Outside of finance, Alejandro enjoys reading about economic history and philosophy, playing golf and squash and spending time with his family and friends.

Spencer Lee – Healthcare
Status: Healthcare Analyst
Spencer is a second year student at the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce specialized in Finance. He is currently the Analyst for the Healthcare sector.
This upcoming summer, Spencer will be completing his first summer work term as a Financial Analyst with the Royal Canadian Mint. Spencer previously worked as a Legal Assistant at Ion Underwood and Johnson LLP in his hometown of Brantford, Ontario.
Prior to attending the University of Ottawa, Spencer attended Northfield Mount Hermon, a private New England boarding school in Greenfield, Massachusetts where he played varsity hockey and lacrosse. Spencer also played a year of Junior hockey, playing in the Ontario Hockey League’s Plymouth Whalers and the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Kingston Voyageurs. Shivdeep Pal – Consumers

Raised in Ottawa, Shivdeep has been surrounded by an entrepreneurial environment since a young age. He is currently entering his third year of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce program with a specialization in Finance. Shivdeep’s interest in finance arose after he competed in trading competition in first year which led him to join TCF as an analyst for the consumers sector. This past summer Shivdeep worked in the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy Canada, while completing his CSC. This fall he will be able to apply his skills and knowledge acquired from the fund in his internship at Recovery Partners Ltd.
Outside of academics, Shivdeep has a strong passion for leadership. He currently helps his parents manage 2 restaurants while being avidly involved in extracurricular initiatives. He has served as the Director of Finance for the Telfer Student Council, Vice-President of External Affairs for Deca uOttawa, and participated in an international volunteer mission in India. Dmitry Shorikov – Materials

Dmitry is a third year student at Telfer School of Management, pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce specialized in Finance. He is currently Analyst for Materials sector.
This past summer, Dmitry has completed an internship in a back office role at the European Department of BMO Money Markets in Montreal. He also hold a part-time position as a Lab Assistant at Telfer’s Financial Research and Learning Lab.
At Telfer, Dmitry has been a standout competitor in competitions such as CFA Challenge, Rotman International Trading Competition, and Omnium Financier. In addition, he is an executive member of Mod-Eng Group, and the president of OSIC, which are University of Ottawa student led clubs focused on financial modelling and economics.
Born and raised in Moscow, Dmitry has moved to Canada six years ago to pursue the completion of high school and university education. He holds interest in quantitative investments, politics, programming and Asian cultures. He also enjoys soccer, game of Go, and skiing.

Raised in the Ottawa Valley, Zac is entering his third year at Telfer School of Management pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in Accounting. He is currently an analyst for the Technology and Telecommunications sector. This past summer Zac completed his CSC and is working for Welch LLP as a staff Accountant.
Zac attended Arnprior District High school, where he began to develop his passion for Finance and Accounting, and was elected to receive the Arnprior Greater Chamber of Commerce award. Outside of academics, Zac was involved in his school’s mentorship program for incoming students; he was also captain of his hockey team, competed at a high-level of pole-vault, and participated in various Math competitions. This upcoming summer, William will be contributing full-time into a technology start-up that aims towards disrupting the service industry within North America. William is an avid entrepreneur and enjoys finding opportunities to integrate technology where applicable. He is also the co-founder of a quantitative investment fund that uses a data-driven approach to asset management.
