The designs were kept simple and offer limited customization to keep consistency between courses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By adopting this template, you will help create consistency across Telfer&#8217;s online courses, making it easier for students to find important information in predictable places. The template can be imported in part or in full. You may want to list the course objectives and how they relate to the program objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Update the Instructor &amp; TA Contact information<\/li>\n<li> To add a profile picture, use <a href=\"https:\/\/crop-circle.imageonline.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/crop-circle.imageonline.co\/<\/a> to create circle profile pictures.<\/li>\n<li>Click Add attachment at the bottom of the page and attach your syllabus (in<br \/>\npdf).<\/li>\n<li>Optional: Include any additional links under Student Resources that are relevant to<br \/>\nthe course.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n          <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n\r\n    \n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Course Outline Module<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The purpose of this module is to set expectations for how the course operates and includes the policies and resources available. The Course Outline module is composed of <strong>4 pages<\/strong>: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Course Outline (PDF) <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>About this course<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Policies <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Resources<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<p><strong>\r\n    <div class=\"card some-class 5\">        \r\n        <div class=\"card-header\">\r\n          <a class=\"card-link\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" href=\"#5\">\r\n            How to update the Course Outline Module (click to expand)          <\/a>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n        <div id=\"5\" class=\"collapse \">\r\n          <div class=\"card-body\">\r\n            <\/strong>On the left hand-side menu, click on <strong>Course Outline<\/strong>. Click <strong>inside the description area<\/strong> to access the text editor. You will see editing options on top of the page (e.g. bold, italic, hyperlinks, etc.). <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Update the text and upload your picture to replace the profile picture placeholder.<\/li>\n<li> To add a profile picture, use <a href=\"https:\/\/crop-circle.imageonline.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/crop-circle.imageonline.co\/<\/a> to create circle profile pictures.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Update<\/strong> to save the changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n          <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n\r\n    \n\n\n<p><strong>\r\n    <div class=\"card some-class 6\">        \r\n        <div class=\"card-header\">\r\n          <a class=\"card-link\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" href=\"#6\">\r\n            How to update the Course Outline PDF (click to expand)          <\/a>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n        <div id=\"6\" class=\"collapse \">\r\n          <div class=\"card-body\">\r\n            <\/strong>On the Course Outline module,  click on the Course Outline (PDF)&#8217; Action link and choose <strong>Change file<\/strong>. The Upload file page will appear. Click <strong>upload<\/strong> to search for and add the course outline (PDF) from your computer. Click <strong>Update<\/strong> to save the file.            <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n\r\n    \n\n\n<p><strong>\r\n    <div class=\"card some-class 7\">        \r\n        <div class=\"card-header\">\r\n          <a class=\"card-link\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" href=\"#7\">\r\n            How to update the About this Course page (click to expand)          <\/a>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n        <div id=\"7\" class=\"collapse \">\r\n          <div class=\"card-body\">\r\n            <\/strong>On the Course Outline module,  click on the About this Course&#8217; Action link and choose <strong>Edit HTML<\/strong>. The About this Course page will appear. Click <strong>on the text<\/strong> to edit the text and make the changes. You will see editing options on top of the page (e.g. bold, italic, hyperlinks, etc.). When you are done editing the text, click <strong>Save and Close<\/strong> to save the file.            <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n\r\n    \n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Course Modules<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Modules<\/strong> are aimed at helping students access the course materials easily and keep the course organized. Each module (e.g. Module 1, Module 2, Module 3, etc.) starts with a <strong>Module Overview<\/strong> in the description area at the top of the page, where you can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Add a <strong>short description<\/strong> about the module (or a short video clip). <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the <strong>learning objectives<\/strong> for the module. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add a <strong>to-do list <\/strong>for the module (e.g. activities and assessments).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can then upload <strong>files<\/strong>, add <strong>links<\/strong>, create <strong>pages<\/strong> to share the course materials with the students (e.g. PPT slides, case studies, video recordings, handouts) from each week. You can also add links to <strong>course activities &amp; assessments<\/strong> (e.g. Quizzes, Assignments, Discussions, etc.). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To create more <strong>Modules<\/strong>, click <strong>Add a module<\/strong> at the bottom of the course menu. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can then copy\/paste the description of a previous module in the description page and update it. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Telfer School of Management has developed a Brightspace course template for Telfer instructors.
