The uOttawa Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) Fund is a newly created fund to help encourage faculty, staff, students, alumni and clubs to create entrepreneurship-related initiatives or events during Global Entrepreneurship Week – November 8 – 14th , 2021.
GEW events and programs are meant to promote entrepreneurship, celebrate entrepreneurs and teach entrepreneurial and innovation skills. The goal of the fund is to encourage the creation of meaningful events that contribute to the spirit of GEW, complement existing events and enhance the overall week here at uOttawa! To view the calendar of currently scheduled events and activities, see: TBD. Initiatives eligible for funding can include (but are not limited to):
- Forums, conferences or competitions
- Guest speakers, panel discussions, meet-ups
- Networking events
Winning projects will receive funds to help offset project costs such as food, room rental, marketing, etc. and prize money may vary depending on project requirements.
What is Global Entrepreneurship Week?
Global Entrepreneurship Week is a celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. During one week each November, GEW inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators.
