{"id":379,"date":"2016-06-03T14:20:15","date_gmt":"2016-06-03T18:20:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.telfer.uottawa.ca\/thtex\/?p=379"},"modified":"2016-06-03T14:20:15","modified_gmt":"2016-06-03T18:20:15","slug":"innovation-to-transform-healthcare-the-massachusetts-general-hospital-experience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.telfer.uottawa.ca\/thtex\/innovation-to-transform-healthcare-the-massachusetts-general-hospital-experience\/","title":{"rendered":"Innovation to Transform Healthcare: The Massachusetts General Hospital Experience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Wednesday, May 18, health care professionals, business leaders, students and public servants gathered to attend an event organized by the Telfer Health Transformation Exchange (THTex), featuring Dr. Eric Isselbacher, Director of the Healthcare Transformation Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital and Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Isselbacher described the activities and role of Healthcare Transformation Lab. Interestingly he said that the biggest challenge for the Lab was, and still is, to bring a culture of innovation to a very successful organization (Massachusetts General Hospital is consistently ranked a top hospital in the USA).<\/p>\n<p>During his talk, Dr. Isselbacher stated that an \u201cinnovation is set to fail\u201d because of the nature of disruption it has the potential to unleash.
