Professor Wilden provided\ninsights into the role entrepreneurship can play in healthcare. <\/li><li>Dr.\nRobin Boushey, Assistant Professor of Surgery, University of Ottawa, Medical\nDirector of the Ottawa Gastrointestinal Institute, Champlain LHIN.&nbsp; Dr. Boushey, drawing on his own\nentrepreneurial experience, presented practical side of entrepreneurship.<\/li><li>Dr. Joel\nWerier \u2013 Associate Professor of Surgery, University of Ottawa, Medical\nDirector, Ontario Workers Network.&nbsp; Dr.\nWerier discussed novel province-wide initiative called Ontario Workers Network\ninvolving multiple providers.<\/li><li>Dr.\nAngel Arnaout \u2013 Associate Professor, Department of Surgery, University of\nOttawa, Associate Scientist, Cancer Therapeutics Program.&nbsp; Dr. Arnaout shared with the audience her\nperpective on private-public partnerships in improving care delivery.<\/li><li>Mr.\nSanjay Shah \u2013 Founder and President ExecHealth Ottawa.&nbsp; Mr. Shah discussed how private provider of\ncare might coexist with publicly funded healthcare system.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The\ndiscussion that followed was moderated by Dr. Michael Fung-Kee-Fung, Co-Director,\nTelfer Health Transformation Exchange; Cross Appointed Professor with the Telfer\nSchool of Management; Surgical Oncologist, The Ottawa Hospital. &nbsp;The audience raised questions ranging from a\nmix of privately and publicly-funded care delivery, through creation of\nspecialized care delivery enterprises (i.e. imaging, colonoscopy, endoscopy,\netc.) within the publicly funded system, to organizational capacity to unleash\nentrepreneurial spirit.&nbsp; All participants\nagreed that there is a need for similar events in the future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The panel discussion on the role of entrepreneurship in transforming healthcare delivery took place at the Telfer School of Management on November 28, 2019.
