Christyne Auger, President

ChristyneChristyne is a graduate of the 2005 MBA class. She holds a BA in Spanish (Concordia University) and a BSc in Chemistry (University of Manitoba).  Her experience as a social director for the MBA Student Association was so stimulating and rewarding that she decided to get involved with the MBAAA.  As a Director and past-president, she is pleased to help bring alumni together.  She likes her coffee, two creams and one sugar and is always ready for a game of golf! Christyne works as Recruitment manager for the MBA and graduate programs at the University of Ottawa.

 

Cameron Miller, Past-President

millerCameron is a graduate of the MBA Class of 2012 and holds an HBSc in Biochemistry (Wilfrid Laurier University). He served as the MBA Alumni Liaison for the MBASA during his studies, and later joined the MBAAA to lead the social sub-committee. As the president and member of the strategic, social, and award committees, he hopes to continue to build the Telfer alumni community within Ottawa and beyond. Cameron is the Director of Marketing for The Evidence Network, a spin-off company from the University of Ottawa. His strengths are in business strategy development, performance management, and entrepreneurial management, which he attributes to the Telfer MBA program. When Cameron is not working you can find him on the golf course, playing baseball, or if it is winter, on the hockey rink, cross-country or alpine skiing.

 
Kevin Mascarenhas, Vice-President  

kevinKevin is an MBA 2014 graduate who has worked in the IT Service Industry as a Technology consultant for 6 years. He has an Engineering background and has experience in managing and delivering projects for multi-cultural clients, predominantly in the Life Sciences and Resources domains. He was also involved in organising various corporate events and was part of a non-profit organisation. His interest in learning more about the business and corporate strategy aspects of management motivated him to pursue his MBA at Telfer. In his free time, he loves playing musical keyboard and playing soccer.

 

Wynn Quon, Treasurer

wynnWynn (Class of ’94) serves on the MBAAA web sub-committee, the social committee and the newsletter committee. His background includes real-time software development and R&D management. He was Director of R&D and then Chief Engineer for Mitel Corporation before starting an investment consulting company, Legado Associates in 2001 and eventually becoming an independent investor. Wynn is also a writer with several dozen articles on finance and technology published in the mainstream media. He plays the piano with excruciating results. He prefers Earl Grey tea to coffee.

 
 
   
 Marc Tassé, Director  

Marc TasseMarc  is a CPA auditor, CA, registered in both Ontario and Quebec. He has extensive forensic accounting experience through his work with one of the largest international auditing firms. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), as well as a graduate diploma in commerce from the University of Ottawa. Marc has investigated corruption and fraud cases throughout the world. He is also active in teaching business and accounting courses at the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa, and is a recipient of a Teaching Excellence Award in the MBA program. As a Subject Matter Expert, Marc is a panel member of the Canadian Centre of Excellence for Anti-Corruption, and is involve in mentoring and volunteering with the United Nations Online Volunteering Service.

 
Pouya Safi, Director  

pouyaPouya is a 2013 Telfer MBA graduate, and currently works at the Telfer School of Management as the Manager of the Financial Research and Learning Lab, where students go to apply and practice the theories that they learn within their finance courses. Prior to this, he worked as a Financial Advisor for both Scotiabank and Edward Jones, where he managed a portfolio of high net worth clients and offered financial planning and investment advice. Pouya has also worked in the public sector at the financial analysis level. He graduated from the University of Ottawa with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce, with a specialization in Finance. He is a results­ oriented individual with the ability to initiate action, make decisions and solve problems with a full commitment to quality and client satisfaction. Pouya is fluently trilingual in English, French and Farsi. In his free time, Pouya loves to travel in order to broaden his knowledge of different cultures and global business practices.

 
Ashley Walker, Director  

ashleyAshley is a graduate of the 2012 MBA Class, prior to which she earned a BA in Economics and Society from the University of Calgary. While at Telfer, she was an active member of the MBASA, helping to organize numerous events throughout the year as well as the graduation gala. As a Director and a member of the social and web committees she is enthusiastic about the opportunity to foster relationships with alumni. In addition to her pursuit of a career in the non-profit sector in Ottawa, Ashley loves to cook from scratch and dance ballet.

 
   
 

Matt Chesser, Director

Matt is a graduate of the MBA Class of 2017, where he served as external relations director for the MBASA. He currently works as a strategic change consultant for Deloitte. Before obtaining his MBA, Matt completed a BA in political science at McGill University, worked as manager of development programs for the Ottawa Senators, and had a brief career in journalism; his MBA allowed him to shift careers before an inevitable mid-life crisis. He hopes to help the MBAAA build a sense of community among alumni in the national capital region. His biggest weaknesses include bad puns, plaid shirts, and writing brief biographies.

   
  Dan Pasian, Director

Dan is a JD and MBA graduate from the University of Ottawa class of 2015. He strongly believes in interdisciplinary learning, which drove him to examine the intersection of business and law. He is fluent in English, French, and Italian and is a skilled entrepreneur, who has experience working with both public and private sectors. Currently, Dan is an Associate in the Partnerships and Business Development branch at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. When he’s not turning the pages of a good book, Dan can be found participating in a wide range of sports.
